The European Association for the History of Medicine and Health (EAHMH) was established in 1989, with its seat in Cologne. The very position of its seat represents the truly European nature of its mission and outlook.
We aim to foster research and the international exchange of views on all issues concerning health and medicine in Europe and their connections with the extra-European world. For this purpose, EAHMH attracts members world-wide, from North America to Australasia.
Members include demographers, social historians, social anthropologists and medical historians.
As a member of the European Association for the History of Medicine and Health, you will get access to a vibrant international network of scholars, expanding your academic connections across Europe and beyond. Members receive our newsletter with key information on conferences and seminars, recent publications, and new research initiatives. Members are also welcome to join our regular EAHMH webinars. We actively support early career researchers through dedicated events focused on topics such as academic writing and publishing, grant writing, career navigation, as well as knowledge about different academic systems and strategic career planning. Membership also contributes to our commitment to inclusion, capacity building, and solidarity with researchers in precarious positions. You will be part of our biennial conferences, fostering community, collaboration, and shared expertise across the field. Finally, your membership supports the open access publication of the European Journal for the History of Medicine and Health and gives you the opportunity to subscribe to a printed copy of the journal. We are a small organization run entirely by volunteers, without salaried staff, and your membership fee directly supports our ability to continue and expand these initiatives.
You can also pay using the Paypal option below.
If this is somehow not possible, you can pay by transferring the membership fee directly to THE ASSOCIATION FOR THE HISTORY OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH (Sparkasse Köln-Bonn, IBAN: DE50 3705 0198 1935 5519 68). Please note, it is very important to add your name and e-mail address to the comment section.
